My love for mechanical engineering developed thanks to my father. He inspired me with the way he talked about his profession. He often involved me in his projects, and although I didn’t realize it at the time, those moments significantly influenced my choice of university and profession.
When the time came to decide on a university, I knew exactly what I wanted and chose the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade. My father supported me throughout, encouraging me to read scientific papers and offering suggestions. His guidance helped me connect theoretical knowledge with practical application, which provided a strong foundation for my studies. My interest in automation emerged later, during my studies, when I became intrigued by the potential to design and control industrial processes.
As I approached the end of my master’s studies, I was introduced to the opportunity of an internship through a friend who mentioned the ‘Open Day’ event at Avisto Eastern Europe. Curious and excited, I attended and was immediately impressed by the company’s atmosphere, organization, and the professionals working there. Conversations with employees who worked in the field of automation solidified my decision to apply for an internship.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to work with experienced mentors, solve real-world tasks, and develop practical solutions. This period helped me significantly expand my knowledge and acquire hands-on skills. After successfully completing the internship, I was offered a position and now work as a junior automation engineer.
Since then, I’ve been continually learning and upgrading my skills. My work involves using various devices and components for process automation, as well as working with software tools for programming and system control. I am currently involved in projects where I can see the tangible results of my work while learning from industry experts in this field.
