My Engineering Story: Filip, Embedded Software Engineer

I saw a great opportunity to work on developing new technologies, but more importantly, working on myself and learning by challenging myself out of my comfort zone.

Hello! My name is Filip, and this is my Engineering story!

I remember when I was just a little boy, I wanted to become a priest, doctor, pilot… But I was surrounded by electronics and technology. I loved it. I always wanted to have a look, take a resistor off, investigate, and burn a finger or two (it happens 😃). But that didn’t have my full attention, I wasn’t fully interested, however, I knew that there was “something there”. I got my first computer when I was six. Since I was playing SEGA already and I was good at games, this was a big update. Then I realized what was missing, I loved technology, but I loved the software part of it and since then I knew what I wish to become.

As time was passing, I realized that maybe the games are not my biggest interest in Software Engineering. I loved Cars and Artificial Intelligence/Neural Networks, too. So, my journey started with developing one Deep Neural Network for the Automotive Embedded Industry. Also, I got involved in the optimization of Deep Neural Networks on Embedded GPUs and wrote a paper for the Berlin ICCE conference, as well as a patent application that got accepted. After that, I was working on a project related to the Automotive Industry.

One day I got a LinkedIn message, different than the standard ones we all know, that caught my attention. After initial meetings, I got the opportunity to hear more about the project I would work on. I saw a great opportunity to work on developing new technologies, but more importantly, working on myself and learning by challenging myself out of my comfort zone. The decision to join AVISTO Eastern Europe has lead me to enjoy every day in the work environment, positivity, friendliness, and kindness from all my colleagues and I love the laughs we have. 😊
