My Engineering Story: Marko, Junior Embedded Software Engineer

At Avisto, I’m part of a team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation. We support each other, share knowledge, and push boundaries together. It’s a place where I’ve not only grown as an engineer but also as a teammate and problem-solver.

From an early age, I was fascinated by how things work. Whether it was mechanical devices or digital systems, I was always curious about the logic behind them. That curiosity stayed with me and naturally led me toward engineering—a field where I could turn questions into solutions and ideas into reality.

I pursued my studies at the Belgrade School of Computing, where I was exposed to a wide range of technical disciplines. One project that left a lasting impression was our work on Operating Systems. It was my first deep dive into low-level programming, using C and Assembly, and it opened the door to the world of embedded systems. That experience sparked a passion that would shape the rest of my career.

Eager to explore this field further, I applied for an internship at Avisto Eastern Europe. That decision marked a turning point in my journey. Surrounded by experienced mentors and a supportive team, I was able to bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world application. The learning curve was steep, but every challenge was an opportunity to grow.

Over the past two and a half years, I’ve been working as an Embedded Firmware Developer on a Functional Safety project. My role involves developing reliable and efficient firmware for safety-critical systems—work that demands precision, responsibility, and a deep understanding of both hardware and software. It’s a field where every line of code matters, and that’s exactly what makes it so fulfilling.

What I value most is the environment I work in. At Avisto, I’m part of a team that values collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation. We support each other, share knowledge, and push boundaries together. It’s a place where I’ve not only grown as an engineer but also as a teammate and problem-solver.
